FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common heating, cooling, and air quality questions for Fraser Valley homeowners.
General Questions
What areas do you serve? +
We are a Fraser Valley company based in Mission, BC, serving homeowners in Mission, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Langley, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam. Not sure if your address is covered? Give us a call and we will let you know.
Are you licensed and insured? +
Yes. Rep-Air Heating and Cooling is registered with Technical Safety BC for gas work, WorkSafeBC compliant, and fully insured. Our gas fitters, plumbers, and electricians are all licensed in British Columbia.
What are your hours? +
Our office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and closed Saturday and Sunday. We are not a 24/7 emergency service: after-hours and weekend calls go to voicemail, and our team returns them during regular business hours. If you smell gas, leave the house and call FortisBC's emergency line from outside.
Do you handle plumbing and electrical too, or just HVAC? +
Yes, all three. We have licensed BC plumbers and electricians on staff, so heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical are all handled by the same team: one number, one warranty, no juggling three contractors.
Rebates, Pricing & Financing
How does your pricing work? +
A service visit (something is not working) is $189, waived when you go ahead with the repair or installation we quote. An estimate appointment for new equipment is free. On a service visit, your technician diagnoses the problem, shows you the readings, photos, or video behind it, and gives you a written estimate, often with 2 to 4 options from repair to replacement. Work only starts when you approve it.
What is the difference between a service visit and an estimate? +
A service visit is for equipment that is not working right: a technician comes out to diagnose and fix it, and the visit is $189 (waived if you accept the estimated repair or installation). An estimate appointment is for planning a new system or replacement: a comfort advisor looks at your home, talks through options, and puts it in writing, at no charge.
Can I get a rebate on a new heat pump or furnace? +
Possibly. Rebate programs from CleanBC, FortisBC, and BC Hydro change often, and eligibility depends on your home, your household, and the equipment. Every FortisBC or CleanBC rebate you qualify for will be applied to the quote by us. We will also help you through every step of the application process.
Do you offer financing? +
Yes. We offer flexible easy-pay options through Financeit on new heating, cooling, and water-heating systems and larger repairs, subject to credit approval. Ask your comfort advisor about monthly payment options when you get your estimate, or see our financing page.
Should I repair or replace my system? +
If your furnace or AC is more than 12–15 years old and facing a major repair, replacement is often the smarter long-term move. Otherwise it depends on the age of the equipment, the cost of the repair, and how well it is keeping up with the Fraser Valley climate. Your technician will lay out both, repair and replacement, with the readings behind the recommendation, and you decide.
Heating, Cooling & Water Heating
Is a heat pump worth it in BC? +
For many Fraser Valley homes, yes. A properly sized and properly installed heat pump heats and cools from one system, and some homes do best with a dual-fuel setup that keeps a gas furnace as backup. The right answer depends on your home, your ductwork, and your electrical service, so we size the system to your house and explain the trade-offs rather than pushing one option.
Why is one room always the wrong temperature? +
Usually airflow, insulation, or an oversized/undersized system. We diagnose the cause and can add a ductless mini-split, adjust ductwork, or install an HRV so every room stays comfortable.
How often should my system be maintained? +
Once a year at minimum. Long equipment life starts with a quality installation; regular professional maintenance then protects that investment, keeps efficiency up, and helps keep your warranty coverage valid. Our maintenance plans make it automatic.
Do you install tankless water heaters? +
Yes. Our licensed plumbers install and service traditional tank water heaters and tankless (on-demand) units, both gas and electric. If your current tank is leaking or nearing end of life, call us and we will get you options quickly.
