About Eddie Calder

Eddie is a dual-ticket Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic and Red Seal Plumber with over 20 years in the trades. He’s also a TECA and BCIT educator, as well as an Executive Partner at Rep-Air. With multiple Red Seals and a background in teaching, Eddie brings a deep technical foundation and a passion for doing things right the first time.

On the job, he’s the go-to for systems, standards, and keeping projects running smoothly. Off the clock, you’ll find him coaching basketball or cheering on his speed-skater daughter.

Raising the Bar in HVAC: Meet Eddie Calder, Executive Partner at Rep-Air Heating and Cooling.

Eddie Calder’s career is built on two things: technical mastery and a deep commitment to education.

From his early days growing up on Vancouver Island to joining the military at 17, Eddie learned discipline, accountability, and leadership under pressure. His path took him into the trades, earning Red Seal certifications in Plumbing and Refrigeration, a Class B Gas Fitter ticket, and experience as a foreman, manager, and technical instructor at JARTS, BCIT, and TECA.

When Eddie joined Rep-Air, it wasn’t just to help run a business, it was to raise industry standards. He was tired of seeing rushed installs, undertrained techs, and poor-quality work. Here, he saw a chance to build a company where education, mentorship, and excellence weren’t optional... they were the culture.

As Executive Partner, Eddie focuses on:

  1. Strengthening design and permitting processes
  2. Building in-house training systems
  3. Aligning with provincial rebate programs for customer benefit
  4. Growing a team rooted in respect, skill, and accountability

Beyond Rep-Air, Eddie serves on the TECA board of directors, stays active in youth sports, and supports his kids’ competitive athletic careers. His leadership style is education-driven, with a vision to create systems so strong that everyone knows their role at all times.

His motto says it best: “Preparation meets opportunity.” And at Rep-Air, that preparation means safer installs, better systems, and happier customers.
