With a career as dynamic as his personality, Dez brings over two decades of community connection and professional experience to Rep-Air Heating & Cooling.
Widely known throughout the Fraser Valley as “Chef Dez,” Dez built a long-standing reputation as a Red Seal Chef, celebrity chef figure, and author of 10 books. But after years of long hours in the kitchen took a toll on his knees — ultimately leading to a knee replacement in 2025 — he knew it was time for a career change.
Beyond his culinary career, Dez also holds extensive experience in business management, accounting (3rd year CGA), sales, marketing, and public speaking. Through every chapter of his career, one principle has remained the same: delivering exceptional customer service.
That mindset is partly what led Dez to Rep-Air. A loyal customer since 2021, he’s experienced our service firsthand. When his water tank failed unexpectedly, Rep-Air had his home back up and running with hot water in under 24 hours — a level of expertise, efficiency, and thoroughness that left a lasting impression.
So when it came time to choose the next chapter in his career, the decision was easy. Dez joined Rep-Air as our Lead Brand Ambassador, excited to represent a company whose values align with his own.

Meet Dez Desormeaux: Rep-Air’s New Lead Brand Ambassador Bringing Passion, Personality, and Community to Every Connection
When you meet Dez Desormeaux, it doesn’t take long to see why he’s such a natural fit for Rep-Air Heating & Cooling.
Many people across the Fraser Valley know him as “Chef Dez,” a Red Seal Chef, 10-time author, and familiar face in the local food and event scene since 2002. For decades, Dez engaged audiences with his signature blend of warmth, expertise, and humour. All skills that translate perfectly into his new role with Rep-Air.
But behind the scenes, years of long days on his feet in commercial kitchens began taking a toll. After undergoing a knee replacement in September 2025, Dez realized it was time for a change. Not away from people, but toward a career that allowed him to use his communication strengths, business experience, and passion for customer service in a new way.
What guided him was simple:
“Whatever I do next, it has to be with a company that truly values people.”
Dez’s connection to Rep-Air actually began long before he ever wore the uniform. He became a Rep-Air customer in 2021, and the experience left a strong impression. From routine service to emergency calls, Rep-Air’s professionalism stood out, but one moment in particular sealed the deal.

So when he began exploring a career shift, Rep-Air was the first place he reached out to and the alignment was instant. With his experience in business management, accounting (3rd year CGA), sales, marketing, and public speaking, combined with his years of public connection as a chef, Dez brings a rare balance of expertise and relatability.
Before joining Rep-Air, Dez spent decades performing live cooking demos, hosting events, and teaching the public. All of which taught him the importance of precision, timing, trust, and clear communication. Coincidentally, those are the same traits that define great HVAC service.
Now, Dez uses those skills to help homeowners understand their heating and cooling systems, make confident decisions, and navigate rebate opportunities with ease.
Dez has lived in Mission for more than 20 years and built meaningful relationships with families and businesses across the community. He doesn’t just represent Rep-Air, he represents the same community we proudly serve.
